b'Dear Friends, It is said, the more things change, the more they stay the same. 2022 was a year of many changes at the Jewish Association on Aging. However, regardless of the ways in which we evolve, our dedication to care for our regions most vulnerable, our seniors, has not - and will not - waiver.Earlier this year, Debbie Winn-Horvitz transitioned into the position of Chief Strategy Officer after serving as JAAs President & CEO for 10 years. In this role, Debbie will help usher us forward as we plan for JAAs future. Mary Anne Foley stepped into the role of President & CEO after serving JAA for a decade, most recently as Chief Operating Officer. This year, we launched Charles Morris at Home to enhance the lives of individuals living at home through JAA Home Healths replication of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. This program provides intensive, comprehensive services that not only reduce re-hospitalizations but also improve overall patient satisfaction. At AHAVA, we implemented a restorative care model for our residents physical and mental well-being. By continually monitoring and working to improve various abilities such as wheelchair mobility, range of motion, and ambulation, we help our residents maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. Through this program, residents have also improved or maintained memory recall by participating in exercises designed to enhance long-term memory. We recently shared news that we are pursuing a unique opportunity to expand care for seniors in our region by transforming our campuss footprint. In doing so, we are working to create the only urban senior village of its kind in our region, allowing us to preserve JAAs mission while significantly broadening high-quality service options available in the Pittsburgh area.None of this would be possible without your supportWe would like to thank every donor to JAA this year. The generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations - combined with enduring support from the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and the Jewish Healthcare Foundation - helps us support and care for our seniors. This kindness truly makes a difference in the daily lives of each of the people we serve. With gratitude,Lou Plung Mary Anne Foley, RN, MSNChair, Board of Directors President & CEO'
