At Anathan Adult Day, our primary focus is keeping our members actively engaged from the moment they arrive, ensuring they have a fulfilling and enriching day. Meanwhile, caregivers can manage their daily responsibilities with peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are in a safe and supportive environment. Like all JAA memory care programs, the activities at Anathan are thoughtfully designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Each day at Anathan begins with our morning meeting, where members introduce themselves and share in learning about special highlights of the day. We explore important events that happened on that day in history, celebrate special holidays (such as National Chocolate Cupcake Day on October 18!), and recognize celebrity birthdays. We also learn about a featured ‘Person of the Day’. To conclude the meeting, we review the weather forecast.
Throughout the day, members participate in a variety of engaging activities. Daily exercise might include following along to chair exercise videos or fun games like seated balloon volleyball. Our tablets offer personalized interactive activities like book club and “Walk Down Memory Lane”, customized to each member’s life experiences. Members also enjoy playing games such as Family Feud, word guessing games, and BINGO as well as word activities like “Have you ever?” and “This or That”. In addition, members participate in music therapy, art therapy projects aligned with holidays and events, and weekly pet therapy with Bonny and Cooper.
We look forward to celebrating the upcoming Jewish holidays with Rabbi Small and have a full lineup of fun fall activities planned for our members to enjoy.
We are currently welcoming new members! If you have any questions or if you would like to schedule a tour of the club, please call us at 412-422-9454.
