A Fond Farewell To Our Rabbi and Friend

October 2020

Rabbi Seidman says “Shalom” to JAA after 25 wonderful years as JAA’s spiritual leader and director of pastoral care. He has been the symbol of all things Jewish and more things spiritual for our staff, residents, and families. Rabbi is known for his characteristic ties, crazy hats, and outlandish costumes that bring a smile to residents and staff alike. He kept JAA united with his ubiquitous sense of camaraderie, love, and spiritual uplifting. Whether caring for a person at the end of life, sharing a story about an upcoming Holiday, regaling us with his weekly “Jews in the News” briefs, or calling out BINGO numbers, Rabbi brought joy to those who he surrounded.

Rabbi is and always will be well-loved at JAA and takes with him an unending list of friends and admirers.

To Rabbi Eli Seidman,

You will be deeply missed. Your daily words of encouragement, support during troubled times, and your contagious smile all have added warmth and brightness to each and every day.  Your legacy speaks volumes. May you and Terri proceed to the next chapter in strength, in promise, and in hope!

L’hitraot and Todah Rabah for all that you have given us!

Your friends, colleagues, and pastoral flock at JAA
