Sivitz Jewish Hospice & Palliative Care supports you and your loved one as life's journey comes to an end.
Hospice care is a way of caring for people with life-limiting illnesses. We address emotional, spiritual or existential concerns felt by you and your loved ones. We integrate innovative care and holistic approaches to provide the highest level of comfort.
Guided by Jewish values and compassion, our approach to hospice care is about life and well-being. We provide needed care and support, honor wishes, and are by your side until the last minute of life.
Our patients and families establish relationships with our compassionate team of hospice specialists, all of whom provide support and ensure that no one faces this difficult time alone.
Palliative care is for those who have a life-limiting illness but are not ready for Hospice or are still receiving curative treatment. Our palliative care program offers expert treatment of pain and continuity of care in a private residence or senior living center.
Our highly skilled team offers expert assistance with symptom management. If needed, we can help patients transition to hospice.
Medicare Care Choices
Sivitz Jewish Hospice offers Medicare beneficiaries hospice support while they are continuing treatment.
If you suffer from life limiting illnesses including cancer, HIV Aids, COPD and congestive heart failure, you now have choices.
We are the first and only service provider in the western Pennsylvania to participate.
This program provides Medicare beneficiaries (those who qualify for coverage under the Medicare hospice benefit and dually eligible beneficiaries who quality for the Medicaid hospice benefit) the option to elect to receive supportive care services typically provided by a hospice agency while continuing to receive treatment.
Ask us about this option if you think you might qualify.
Care at Home
Our hospice and palliative care teams provide care to patients in their homes or the location of their choice, among family and friends.
Bereavement services are an essential and intricate part of the hospice program, and Sivitz Jewish Hospice is committed to supporting families during the grieving period following the loss of a loved one. Bereavement support is tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. We are committed to providing ongoing support for as long as it’s needed.
