JAA held two commemorative events to honor those lost during the tragedy at Tree of Life. The first was at JAA’s Charles Morris Nursing & Rehabilitation Center followed a week later at Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Terrace. At Charles Morris, we listened to words of inspiration from Jan Kellough, our bereavement and volunteer coordinator at Sivitz Hospice and heard the beautiful voices of JAA’s Mark Snavely as well as Jennifer and Dan McCay who helped us remember the friends and neighbors we lost one year ago. At the Terrace, Marissa Knaub Avon of Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh accompanied our speakers and singers. The solemnity and emotion at both services were a fitting tribute from our close-knit communities as we vow to remember and repair together.
